REFUGE@LAST – SAFE@LAST Refuge Team This workshop will reflect upon SAFE@LAST’s provision of refuge under Section 51 of the Children Act and begin to consider if refuge could be right for your organisation
SAFE and Sound – SAFE@LAST MISPER Team This is an opportunity to learn about and discuss flexible and creative ways of engaging young people at risk through running away which have resulted in a significant reduction in repeat running.
South Yorkshire Runaway Action Partnership – The Metropolitan Boroughs of Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham and Sheffield City Council The positive impact for young runaways of open, honest and effective partnership working between public and 3rd sector organisations.
Positive response to young Runaways – South Yorkshire Police An opportunity to look at the positive approach to runaways and investigate ‘good practice’ between South Yorkshire Police and SAFE@LAST.
What are the risks? – Risky Business, Street Reach, Sheffield Sexploitation Service, BMBC. A look at the vulnerability of Young Runaways with regard to Sexual Exploitation and how this is addressed across the four Boroughs of South Yorkshire.
Prevention is Key - SAFE@LAST Runaways Education team Recent publications such as the Runaways Action Plan published by the DCSF highlight the importance of preventative measures when addressing the phenomenon of running away. SAFE@LAST has been delivering preventative work in schools for nearly two years – this workshop will provide valuable insight into the development and delivery of this successful piece of work
